Wine Bottle Craft

Hello!  I always see cute wine bottle crafts on Pinterest and I finally took a shot at one!

What you'll need:
-Wine Bottle
-Mod Podge Spray
-Glitter
-Ribbon
-Hot Glue Gun
-Sticks
-Tape

Once I had an empty wine bottle, I removed the labels using warm water and a brillo pad.  I then used tape to section off where I wanted the glitter to be applied.  I sprayed the area with Mod Podge spray then rolled the bottle in glitter and did another coat of Mod Podge.  I added ribbon to the base and neck of the bottle and secured with hot glue.  I found glitter embellished sticks at Michael's that fit perfect in the bottle.  I've been testing other wine bottle crafts, but I can't share until after the holidays! Happy Crafting!

I love Ellies!!!

Happy Sunday!  I love this craft because you can definitely make it your own!  It's a simple little mason jar craft!

What you'll need:
 -Mason Jar
-Animal (I chose an Elephant)
-Paint (I used spray paint and acrilic)
-Ribbon
-Glue

I started this craft by spray painting the elephant and lid of the mason jar.  I found the perfect sized animals at Michael's in the children's toy isle.  Once everything was dry, I first glued the two lid pieces together and then glued the elephant to the lid.  I painted the mason jar with Martha Stewart pearl paint.  To polish off the jar, I tied a ribbon around the neck!  I have no clue what I'm going to put in the jar, but I love it!  I was thinking it would be great for hair ties and pins!  Hope y'all enjoyed!

Personalized Gifting!

Hello y'all! For those of you who don't already know, I'm also a Scentsy consultant!  Today I'm sharing a quick DIY using a Scentsy warmer called "Charmer."  I needed a gift last Christmas for someone who loves flip flops.  I couldn't think of what to get her, knowing that she is gifted a lot of flip flop stuff and this idea popped into my head!  I found someone on Etsy that makes flip flop decals.  Once I completed the flip flop warmer, I really wanted one myself!  I ordered my monogram from the same Etsy shop and made my own!  They both turned out really pretty!  This is a great idea if you're looking for something personalize this holiday season!!!

Luminaries

Hello! I figured after two days of decor posts, I'd feature a craft today!

What you'll need for the wine bottle craft:
-Epson Salt
-Ribbon
-Wine bottle
-Battery operated lights (recommend finding ones with a timer)
-Mod Podge Spray

What you'll need for the mason jar craft:
-Mason jar
-Seashells
-Glass pebbles
-Battery operated lights (recommend finding ones with a timer)
-Twine

For the wine bottle craft: Remove all labels, I soak the bottle in warm water and use a Brillo pad to scrub away and residue.  Once the bottle dries, spray with Mod Podge and immediately roll into Epson salt.  I poured the Epson salt on a paper plate to make it easier to roll.  I then stuffed the lights down into the bottle.  Once you let the bottle sit for a little while, the salt and Mod Podge will set and the salt will hold.  I added a little ribbon at the top.  The lights came with a battery pack and it has three different settings.  This piece didn't fit inside the bottle, so I have it tucked behind the bottle and you can't actually see it!  I found a very inexpensive set of lights at Walmart for this craft.  I believe they were only $5.  Only downside is that the wiring is actually green, you can't tell in this craft, but if you're using clear glass you would be able to see.

For the mason jar craft: I filled the bottom of the mason jar with the desired amount glass pebbles.  I strategically placed the shells around the inside of the glass, using the glass pebbles to hold them in place.  Using twine, I tied a bow around the top of the jar.  I unraveled the strand of lights and added to the jar.  This strand of lights also has a battery pack that didn't fit into the glass jar, so it's sitting behind the jar.  It also came with three settings.  The only downside to this set of lights was the price, I paid about $12 for this strand from Michael's.  I liked the silver wiring on this strand for this craft.  I have both luminaries set on a timer.

I'm very pleased with how both luminaries turned out!  Have you made any luminaries of your own?

Mermaid Tiara

Hello! Today's craft was lots of fun (and frustrating) to make!  I was inspired to make my tiara by a Pinterest post.  Unfortunately, mine didn't go quite as smooth as the Pinterest post, but I'm incredibly pleased with how my tiara turned out!

What you'll need:
-Tiara
-Sea Shells
-Pearl Paint (I used Martha Stewart Brand)
-Crafting Pearls
-Hot Glue Gun
-Wood Glue
-Super Glue

The Pinterest post I found used a dollar store tiara, however I didn't like the selection at the dollar store, a lot of the tiaras were made of plastic and weren't going to hold up once the shells were attached.  I purchased my tiara from Walmart.  I made sure that the tiara had higher arches so that I had surface area to attach the shells.  I started by painting the shells. Once they were dry, I started gluing the shells on from the center out.  The glue situation was a little frustrating.  Hot glue was good for a quick fix, however, it wasn't holding up.  I ended up using both wood glue and hot glue. The wood glue provided a stronger bond over time.  I attached the tiny shells and crafting pearls using super glue.  I love the way my mermaid tiara turned out!  Hope y'all enjoy!!!

Mason Jar Candle

Hello! Here's a fun little craft I found on Pinterest!

What you'll need:
-Mason Jar
-Mod Podge (I used the spray not the glue)
-Glitter
-Battery operated Tea Light
-Ribbon

Spray the inside of the mason jar with mod podge (or you can coat it with glue). Add glitter.  I put the lit back on and shook the jar until the glitter covered the glass.  Then, simply add a tea light to the inside and screw the glass on top of the lid.  I added a little ribbon to match the decor in the room. Hope ya'll enjoy!

In Memory

I decided to take one of my favorite sayings and create a little sign.  I made one for my home and one for my niece in memory of my Mom!  This was a quick and easy little craft!

What you'll need:
-Sign (I chose both of mine from Michael's)
-Markers (I used paint markers, but sharpies work too!)
-Burlap Bows!

I just simply wrote the quote on the sign above.  For the sign below, I used a plain wooden sign and painted it pink, before writing the quote.

Then I added the burlap bows, which I also found at Michael's!  Quick and easy!  Happy crafting y'all!

Repurpose Scentsy Clam Shells

As many of you already know, I'm a Scentsy Independent Consultant!  Today I wanted to share some ideas I've had on reusing Scentsy clam shells!  I get so many of these and I love finding ways to reuse them!!!

What you'll need:
-Empty clam shell
-Glue (Elmers & hot glue)
-Scrapbooking Paper
-Scissors
-Googly Eyes
-Pipe Cleaners
-Magnets

For the first project, I made a critter out of the lid portion of the clam shell. I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to the shape of the lid.  Using Elmer's glue I secured the paper to the lid, then added the eyes and nose.  I used a marker to make the mouth.  Using a hot glue gun, I secured the pipe cleaner to the back of lid and also secured the magnet. I used corners of the scrapbooking paper to create the ears and glued them to the outer portion of the lid!

When I initially used the magnets on the back of the lid, I used Styrofoam to lift the magnet out of the lid a little, but I later found it was easier to glue the magnet directly to the lid.

This next project is great for my fellow Scentsy Consultants!  I cut the lid off of old clam shells and added my label with my information.  It's a great play on a business card!  I just glued a magnet on the back.  I use it as a bag stuffer when packaging orders and my customers love it!

This isn't so much a project, but sharing an idea!  I love using the empty wax portion of the clam shell as a pallet for paints!  It comes in handy with all the crafting and painting I've been doing lately!!!

The last idea is kinda fun!  I took a clam shell and glued a piece of scrapbook paper on the front.  I then cut eight slips of paper and tucked them into each section.  On the pieces of paper I wrote a small object, for example "penny" or "paper clip" to create a scavenger hunt.  Obviously you can write what ever you heart desires on the slips of paper, I was trying to think of little things that would fit into the little compartments!

I hope you enjoyed today's post!  I'd love to hear any other suggestions on how to reuse the clam shells!!! Happy Crafting Y'all!!!

Sand Souvenirs!

Alright!  Time to get back to crafting! I was on a crafting binge and I had to take a little break!  I thought this was a fun craft for Labor Day weekend!  As the summer winds down and lots of families are vacationing at the beach, this is something fun and easy anyone can do!

What you'll need:
-Glass bottle (I used a wine bottle, beer bottle, and patron bottle)
-Ribbon
-Seashells
-Decal
-Scrap booking paper
-Mod Podge Glue
-Gorilla Glue

*Just a helpful reminder, don't throw away the cork or bottle cap! You will need this!*

First, you have to drink the beverage in order to empty the bottle!  I would then suggest cleaning out the glass bottle with water and soap.  Once the bottle is clean and ready to go, simply take it to the beach and fill with sand!  You can also fill a zip-lock bag with sand and then cut the bottom corner of the bag to fill the bottle.  Because some of my bottles were so big, I just took them to the beach with me and scooped the sand right into the bottle.  Simply stick the cork in the top or use gorilla glue to reattach the cap.  Make sure you've secured your bottle of sand properly for the ride home!

I try to fill a bottle each year I go to the beach, I think it's a fun little souvenir and it fits perfect in the decor for my living room!  Once I'm home from my beach vacation, I'll embellish the bottle. I gather seashells from the beach and string them on ribbon and tie around the neck of the bottle. I have also used scrap book paper and mod podge glue to decorate the bottle! Hope y'all enjoyed! Happy crafting!

Ombré Monograms!

If you couldn't tell by now, I'm a tad obsessed with monograms! Here we go!

What you'll need:
-Monogram
-Paint
-Paint Brushes
-Glitter
-Ribbon
-Glue
-Mod Podge Spray

I started by painting the letter, top half white and bottom half teal.  I used a paint brush to apply glue and applied the glitter, I used white glitter for the top and teal glitter for the bottom. I used a ribbon in the middle and tied a bow! With this project I did seal it with Mod Podge spray to seal the glitter!  Hope y'all enjoyed!

Flip Flop Frame!

Welcome!

Today's post is a quickie!  I purchased an adorable frame from (you guessed it!) Michael's and I wasn't sure what to do with it!  Finally I decided to just paint it!  I added glitter to give it a pretty shimmer and added little polka dots on the straps.

So cute!!! I'm sure there are a million ways to decorate these little frames, you could always add little embellishments like little pearls, ribbon, flowers, butterflies, the list goes on!

Hope y'all enjoyed! Have a great day!!!

Wooden Wreath

I'm super excited to share this craft!!!  I initially found it on Pinterest and I LOVE the way it turned out, I made two!!! Here we go!

What you'll need:
-Wooden sign
-Wood cut outs- Crab, Anchor, Dolphin
-Baby sized flip flops (I went to Old Navy)
-Monogram! (Can you tell I'm obsessed with Monograms?!)
-Sea Shell
-Rope
-Paint
-Paint Brushes
-Wood Glue
-Hot Glue

To start, I painted the wooden sign (purchased from Michael's!)  While that was drying I painted the smaller wooden pieces (also purchased from Michael's!)  I used a wood glue to secure the rope to the wooden sign.  I also used wood glue to secure the anchor, crab, and dolphin.  For the monogram, shell and flip flops, I used a combination of wood glue and hot glue.  I feel like the wood glue holds for a longer period of time and the hot glue helps secure it immediately.  This project does take a little patience when gluing the rope.  I laid out the rope before cutting it down to size, just to make sure I had the correct measurements. When it came time to glue the rope, I tried leaving it in the circle pattern and just lifting one portion at a time while applying the glue.

This is by far one of the cutest things I've ever made! It looks adorable in my living room!  Just a side note: I purchased the flip flops in the baby section of Old Navy.  Both pairs of flip flops had a strap that went around the ankle, I did end up cutting that portion off to make the flip flop more simplistic!  Thanks for reading!!! Happy crafting!

Making it work!

For the longest time I struggled with what I wanted to hang over my bed!  I finally found the perfect piece, but it was black!  My bedroom has white furniture and is decorated in a beautiful shabby chic decor.  I got to thinking that if I couldn't find the perfect piece, I would have to make the perfect piece, and so I did!  I purchased a less expensive version of what I was looking for (from Walmart, ya know, just in case this idea went terribly bad- I wasn't out too much money)...  I bought a bottle of white spray paint and went to making this piece work!

I love it!!! It fit so perfectly with my bedroom decor!  I did have to hit it with spray paint a few times to make sure it was coated.  A little of the black did show through, but it gave it a nice rustic touch!  Again, easy peasy! Have a great day y'all!

Gift Basket

I made this gift basket for Mother's Day!  Really easy to make too!

What you'll need:
-Basket
-Paint
-Brushes
-Stencils
-Embellishments (flowers/ribbon)
-Wine!

I started by painting the basket. Once it dried, I used a stencil to make the polka dots. I used ribbon to accent the middle of the basket and added flowers through out the basket. Don't forget to indulge in some wine while crafting!

Then, fill with goodies! It makes the gift special and personalized. And, the basket can be used for so many things!

I hope y'all enjoyed this post! Have a great day!!!

Flip Flop Welcome Sign!

Hello!!!

Here's another Flip Flop craft!

What you'll need:
-4 Pairs of Flip Flops
-Hot Glue
-Gorilla Glue
-Letters or Paint for "Welcome"
-Small piece of wood
-Wire or Ribbon

To start, I layered the flip flops and glued them into place.  I used both hot glue and Gorilla Glue to secure the flip flops together.  The crazy glue was for long term hold where as the hot glue was for an instant hold.  I find that when you craft with hot glue, it doesn't hold up well in direct sunlight.  I used Gorilla glue to secure the letters "Welcome."  If you don't have letters, you can also use paint to write the "welcome" letters across the flip flops.  I then attached a small piece of wood to the back where you'll be able to attach a wire or ribbon which can be used to hang the welcome sign.  Hope y'all enjoyed!!!

Monogram Letters!

More monograms! I found these on a great sale at Michael's and I designed them to be gifts for family members.

What you'll need:
-Monogram
-Paint
-Glue
-Flowers
-Key

I began with painting the inside of the "H" and then painted the edges.  Once the paint dried I used a hot glue to attach the flower embellishments & I also used hot glue to secure the key.

The flowers and keys were also purchased from Michael's in their dollar section.  There are always good finds there & when I find cute stuff I always grab it!  If you're getting into crafting too, I highly recommend checking out Michael's dollar buys!  They usually update the products with the seasons too! Till next time!!!
