Repurpose Scentsy Clam Shells

As many of you already know, I'm a Scentsy Independent Consultant!  Today I wanted to share some ideas I've had on reusing Scentsy clam shells!  I get so many of these and I love finding ways to reuse them!!! 

What you'll need:

-Empty clam shell

-Glue (Elmers & hot glue)

-Scrapbooking Paper

-Scissors

-Googly Eyes

-Pipe Cleaners

-Magnets

For the first project, I made a critter out of the lid portion of the clam shell. I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to the shape of the lid.  Using Elmer's glue I secured the paper to the lid, then added the eyes and nose.  I used a marker to make the mouth.  Using a hot glue gun, I secured the pipe cleaner to the back of lid and also secured the magnet. I used corners of the scrapbooking paper to create the ears and glued them to the outer portion of the lid!   

When I initially used the magnets on the back of the lid, I used Styrofoam to lift the magnet out of the lid a little, but I later found it was easier to glue the magnet directly to the lid. 

This next project is great for my fellow Scentsy Consultants!  I cut the lid off of old clam shells and added my label with my information.  It's a great play on a business card!  I just glued a magnet on the back.  I use it as a bag stuffer when packaging orders and my customers love it!  

This isn't so much a project, but sharing an idea!  I love using the empty wax portion of the clam shell as a pallet for paints!  It comes in handy with all the crafting and painting I've been doing lately!!! 

The last idea is kinda fun!  I took a clam shell and glued a piece of scrapbook paper on the front.  I then cut eight slips of paper and tucked them into each section.  On the pieces of paper I wrote a small object, for example "penny" or "paper clip" to create a scavenger hunt.  Obviously you can write what ever you heart desires on the slips of paper, I was trying to think of little things that would fit into the little compartments!

Ombré Monograms!

If you couldn't tell by now, I'm a tad obsessed with monograms! Here we go! 

What you'll need:

-Monogram

-Paint

-Paint Brushes

-Glitter

-Ribbon

-Glue 

-Mod Podge Spray

I started by painting the letter, top half white and bottom half teal.  I used a paint brush to apply glue and applied the glitter, I used white glitter for the top and teal glitter for the bottom. I used a ribbon in the middle and tied a bow! With this project I did seal it with Mod Podge spray to seal the glitter!  Hope y'all enjoyed!

Flip Flop Frame!

Welcome!

Today's post is a quickie!  I purchased an adorable frame from (you guessed it!) Michael's and I wasn't sure what to do with it!  Finally I decided to just paint it!  I added glitter to give it a pretty shimmer and added little polka dots on the straps.  

So cute!!! I'm sure there are a million ways to decorate these little frames, you could always add little embellishments like little pearls, ribbon, flowers, butterflies, the list goes on!

Personalized Painting

Today's featured creation is a gift I made for my sweet niece that was inspired by a quote I saw online! 

What you'll need:

-Canvas

-Paints

-Paint Brushes

-Quote or saying! 

I just painted the canvas using chalkboard paint.  Painted the Rylee's name and the quote I found.  Then I simply painted the flowers!  Very happy with how this turned out!  Hope y'all have a great day!!! 

Gift Basket

I made this gift basket for Mother's Day!  Really easy to make too! 

What you'll need: 

-Basket

-Paint

-Brushes 

-Stencils

-Embellishments (flowers/ribbon)

-Wine!

I started by painting the basket. Once it dried, I used a stencil to make the polka dots. I used ribbon to accent the middle of the basket and added flowers through out the basket. Don't forget to indulge in some wine while crafting!

Then, fill with goodies! It makes the gift special and personalized. And, the basket can be used for so many things!

Finger Painting Flamingo!

Today's craft was selected specifically for my guest crafter to give as a gift!

What you'll need:
-Paint (Pink)
-Glitter
-Sharpie
-Glue
-Canvas
-Mod Podge Spray

We started by painting the canvas white.  I then painted my guest crafter's hand pink!  She imprinted her hand onto the canvas and we let it dry.  Once dry, I applied a small coat of glue and we applied the glitter.  I used a sharpie to make the beak, eyes, and legs!  After the glue had dried, I sprayed the painting with Mod Podge Spray! 

Dandelion Dreams

Day two from my crafting adventures with my guest crafter!!! As I stated before, I choose these crafts to be quick and easy for kids!  I found this idea on Pinterest!  I chose this craft because I like the hands on finger painting, what kid doesn't like getting their hands a little dirty?

What you'll need:
-Paint
-Dandelion Template
-Hand Soap
-Water

I poured a few different colors of enamel paint into a paint palette.  Once I printed the dandelion template, we just dipped our fingers into the paint and applied to the template!  I chose to take a more simplistic concept, where as my guest crafter decided to take her creativity to the next level!   

Be sure to have hand soap and warm water ready to go to get those paint covered fingers clean!  Hope y'all enjoyed! Happy crafting!

Painting with Words

Painting words was a big challenge for me!  I always struggled with making each letter perfect and even more, I struggled with finding the perfect brushes.  I finally found the perfect brushes at Michael's, it's a firmer, thin, rounded brush.  For today's craft, I wanted something for the entry table in my home.  I change the decor on the table with the seasons.

I started with something fun for summer, because I felt guilty "wishing the summer away." (haha)  I simply painted the canvas white, painted my "Sunshine and Summertime", and added polka dots!  

This was actually an idea I had last fall that I never got around to! I'm obsessed with sunflowers (you'll see some fun sunflower crafts later) and fall in general.  For this canvas, I painted the canvas a tan, painted my "Happy Fall Yall".  Once that dried, I painted the sunflower! 

I've been sealing my paintings with a Mod Podge spray to protect the paint.  Again, this was super easy!  I would suggest painting letters when you have the opportunity to take your time.  Hope y'all enjoyed this post!

Making a house a home (Or in my case, apartment!)

This project didn't turn out as planned!  My initial idea was to paint an inspirational quote on a canvas.  I started by painting my canvas green.  While I was cleaning my paint brush, my cat decided to walk across the wet canvas!  Her paw prints were too cute to paint over.  I let the "ruined" painting dry and tried to think of a new direction for my project that would include Olivia's prints.  Tonight I decided to add my own hand prints and "Welcome to our home."  It turned out much better than I expected.  I cannot wait for it to dry so that I can hang it in the hallway!

This was another great project that only cost about $6!  My canvas was only $5... It was purchased at Micheal's during a 50% off canvas promotion.  The paint was 50 cents (each color)!  Even though the project took an unexpected turn, it was still less expensive than purchasing a welcome sign from Walmart or Target... And ours is truly one of a kind!
